Skaapbraai in Bridgewater
25 August 2012
South Africans in Nova Scotia
BEFORE (at 2 pm)
AFTER (at 7 pm)
Part of the 50 odd South Africans that gatehered at Bridgewater for a unique skaapbraai.
Someone had to prepare the salad

Our Hosts, Mada and Tony Nestel not only supplied the venue, but also donated the lamb, side dishes and dessert.

We all enjoyed their hospitality which made the hour's drive from Halifax more than worthwhile.
Apart from the lamb-on-a-spit we also had a mad hatter's competition.

There were many hats worth winning a prize whch made the task of the judges very difficult.

The award for the cutest hat went to Danita du Toit.

Eventually the judges decided to award the first prize to a couple rather than an individual.

The winners were Neen and Herman Esterhuizen.
At the end of the day we had an opportunity to show our skills at pavement writing.
